I have a Canon Powershot a510, that my computer no longer recognizes when I plug it in to put pictures on. I'm running Vista. It's been hit and miss for awhile, but I'm getting nothing now.

I had that problem with an old Sony camera and I went to the Sony site and downloaded a driver that fixed the problem. Might be worth a shot.

Well, I uninstalled everything and was going to redo it all and now can't find my disc ... anyone know where to find this online?

can anyone explain why although I've set my camera to take pics at 10mp all the pics come out at 3mp?

Are you using digital zoom for those shots? Or are you using a high frame rate function?

I don't use zoom and put it one every one of the shooting modes even the Fully automatic shooting w/ simplified display

What make/model have you got. My other question would be are these shots taken in low light?

Hmm, are you certain that you've selected the highest resolution setting with minimal compression. It'd be useful if you posted one of the pictures so I could see the exif data (ideally of your mothers breasts, but anything else would do).

Just to check, what makes you suspect it's taking shots at 3mp? Just looking online, the average file size created by the DSC-T77 is around 3.3mb - without trying to sound patronising, are you maybe getting those two confused?

Ahh, this might be it:

• 3648 x 2736 (10M)
• 2592 x 1944 (5M)
• 2048 x 1536 (3M)
• 640 x 480 (VGA)
• 3648 x 2432 (8M 3:2)
• 3648 x 2056 (7M 16:9)
• 1920 x 1080 (2M 16:9)

These are the various formats you can select for the camera. Check it's set for the top one, it may be set for the third one down.

which file host should i use or does it matter?

I think Photobucket preserves the exif data, but I'm not sure. Did my previous post have any luck?

If someone can recommend a couple of camcorders.

Personally nowadays I'd just go with a higher end camera with camcorder functions like the Casio's EX-FH20 (http://www.casio.com/products/Cameras/High_Speed_EXILIM/EX-FH20/). But I suppose a strait up camcorder still has its pluses to it.

depends what you wanna use it for, but aiptek makes the cheapest hd cameras of anyone out there, by a far margin. no tapes, just ss/memory card.
